Take a breath at bench installed at train station

Reflections: The bench at Motherwell train station.

Blairhill received the bench in a bid to encourage more people passing through the station to open up about their mental health.

The benches are delivered by Network Rail, ScotRail, NHS 24s Breathing Space service and Samaritans.

The seats encourage passengers and members of the community to take a moment to pause and reflect on their own mental health or talk through challenges and difficult times with others.

They also include details of how to access support.

Innis Keith, health, safety and environment director at Network Rail Scotland, said: ‐Scotland's railway is part of everyday life for hundreds of thousands of people, which is why it's so important we do what we can to look after mental wellbeing in the communities we serve.
