Caldwell wants City to build on ‘good start’

It has been loss, win, loss, win, loss, win so far for Exeter City this season, but the Grecians are hoping to build on the victory over Peterborough United last Saturday and make it successive positive results.

- DANIEL CLARK

City were somewhere near their best as they cruised to a 3-0 win over Posh last weekend as Jayden Wareham and Josh Magennis got on the scoresheet.

But the challenge has been to back up good results, as following the impressive win over Blackpool last month, City were poor in the following game when they were beaten by Mansfield Town.

It is a long trip to Rotherham United for today’s match for Gary Caldwell’s men. But having got nine points from August to sit in the top half of League One, City are hoping to build on the good start throughout September.

“August was a good start,” Caldwell said. “We always want more, and we will look at the next block and attack to try and win as many points as possible.
