RICHARD Montague is on the verge of leaving his position as director of football at Swansea City after just seven months.

- TOM COLEMAN

The former Notts County chief only joined the club back in February, and has helped to oversee a busy summer recruitment drive for the club.

Swansea landed 12 new players during the most recent transfer window, which many have regarded as the most successful since relegation from the Premier League. Sign up to the Swansea City WhatsApp service to get breaking news and top stories sent to your phone.

During that time, Montague worked closely with Global Head of Analytics and Recruitment Adam Worth in a bid to strengthen a squad previously lacking depth in several key areas.

The club have signed three players with Champions League experience in Marko Stamenic, Adam Idah and Malick Yalcouye, while Cameron Burgess was plying his trade in the Premier League last season.
