|October 14, 2025
A WELSH Government minister has visited the world's largest food and drink trade show Anuga, in Germany, as the industry bids to continue its growth globally.
The latest figures show that the value of Welsh food and drink exports has grown by £269m since 2019, a 47% increase.
The total value in 2024 was £839m, with meat and cereal products the strongest categories.
The visit by deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs Huw Irranca-Davies MS was aimed at building on these recent successes and raising the industry's presence internationally.
He met a strong contingent of Welsh food and drink businesses, along with key European investors in Wales, such as Frostkrone Food Group, Village Bakery Dunbia, Kepak and Dawn Meats.
Discussions included ongoing investments and plans for their Welsh sites.
