Man to face trial over wife's death

A MURDER trial is set to take place in June, 2026, after a husband denied murdering his wife on the grounds of diminished responsibility. Newport Crown Court heard that a doctor had failed to accept the grounds following psychiatric reports.
Michael Davies, 57, previously entered a guilty plea to a count of manslaughter after his wife's body was discovered in a house by police who had been called out due to concerns for her welfare. Davies' wife, Tracey Davies, 48, was found dead in a property in Cefn Cribwr, near Bridgend, on April 18.
