NEWPORT County manager David Hughes wants his team to start climbing the League Two table after securing their first home win since March 15.
There were no points on offer as County beat Gillingham 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in Saturday's FA Cup first-round tie, but Hughes wants his players to take that winning feeling into the league - starting with the bottom v top clash with Walsall at Rodney Parade this weekend.
“Whether it’s the Vertu Trophy, the League Cup, the League, the FA Cup, they're all important games and you want to win,’ said the Exiles boss.
“We always want to win, no matter what tournament or what competition we're in.
“That's no different.
“I’m naturally delighted for everybody connected with the club.
