August 15, 2025

THOUSANDS of people in north Wales have been left without water, due to faults with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water's temporary fix to a burst main in Flintshire.

The company said it had experienced "further problems" with a temporary repair to a burst main in Broughton, which meant it would have to carry out a "full emergency repair".

The outage is affecting communities across Deeside and along the Flintshire coast up to Talacre.

In Ffynnongroew, some residents have complained of having little water for five days.

As a result, bottled water was delivered to Ffynnongroew Canol fan and Talacre Community Centre, and people are also dropping supplies at the homes of vulnerable residents.
