Community gathers to remember popular dad

THE family of a man allegedly murdered last month have thanked their community for its support after a balloon and lantern release in his memory.
Christian Dean, 36, was found dead in the kitchen of a house in Graig Road, Ynyshir, by a neighbour on the afternoon of Thursday, June 26.
Police have since charged 34-year-old Thomas Griffiths with Mr Dean’s murder and he has been remanded in custody.
Thomas Griffiths was known to Mr Dean and his family, Christian's brother, Julian Dean, told the South Wales Echo.
After the balloon release at Wattstown Rugby Club where dove balloons were sent off into the sky along with lanterns, Julian Dean said: “I’m so thankful to the community for how they turned out.
“It was a perfect way to remember Christian, although in very difficult circumstances.
