Teenager left M5 ambulance and was hit by car

INVESTIGATIONS are under way following the death of a teenager who was hit by a car after getting out of an ambulance on the motorway.

The tragedy unfolded on Sunday night as the 18-year-old was being transported to hospital on the northbound M5 between Weston-super-Mare and Clevedon.
Police said they had been contacted by the ambulance service shortly after 11pm.
They told police ambulance workers had stopped their vehicle to provide the patient with further treatment but he had got out and was now on the road.
