Permanent City switch appealing to Borges

ETO Borges is open to the prospect of making his loan to Bristol City permanent, with the Brazilian enjoying his time at Ashton Gate so far, even though he does not exactly know what the Robins’ long-term plan is.

- DANIEL CARTER

The 29-year-old was the final addition to Gerhard Struber's squad during the summer transfer window, making the temporary move to south Bristol from fellow Championship club Middlesbrough, less than 24 hours before the transfer deadline.

Borges’ minutes at the Riverside had been limited under then-Boro boss Rob Edwards, but so far the wing-back has had no such issue in City colours. Already, he has made 19 appearances for the Robins in the Championship, assisting twice over the course of ten League starts.

With Cam Pring only recently returning to full fitness, having recovered from surgery on an ankle injury sustained during preseason, the Middlesbrough loanee has been able to make the left wing-back position his own and struck up an impressive partnership with Anis Mehmeti.
