Park attacks investigation: Police arrest second man

POLICE have arrested a second person in connection with a series of assaults in Castle Park.
Police are investigating a string of attacks on men in Castle Park, Bristol
Several reports of men being assaulted in the park were made between Sunday, November 30, and Friday, December 5, with a fifth incident now being considered as linked to other attacks.
Avon and Somerset Police is investigating the incidents and says they may be homophobic in nature.
The similar incidents involve men of various ages being approached by two men in Castle Park. A light is flashed in their eyes before they are assaulted.
Bristol Neighbourhood detective superintendent Keith Smith said: "Obviously, we are concerned there's a homophobic motivation to the offences, but that’s a line of inquiry in a live investigation."
Detective superintendent Smith said some of the victims had reported they believed the attacks were homophobic in nature, and the fact the same methods were used by the perpetrators in all five assaults has led police to believe they were linked.
