Boss 'proud' despite the horror show in first half

GEORGE Skivington explained that he was "proud of the character" shown by his Gloucester Rugby side in their 37-35 defeat to Northampton Saints on Sunday - but admitted the Cherry & Whites ultimately gave themselves too big a hill to climb.
Gloucester trailed 31-0 to the Saints in their Gallagher Prem round two fixture, and were still 24 points down at halftime. However, the Kingsholm outfit produced an incredible fightback to lead the game 35-34 inside the final ten minutes - only for the visitors to nick it late on.
Director of rugby Skivington said:
"At halftime that was a pretty big scoreline to pull back, and we have definitely learned something about the players we didn't know before.
