CAM Pring’s blend of football intelligence, dynamism, comfort in possession, and clarity of decision-making marks him out as a “really interesting” player for Bristol City, according to Gerhard Struber, as the Robins chief looks to create an “unpredictable team” at Ashton Gate.

- DANIEL CARTER

For the first time this season, City are set to be boosted by the return of Pring from injury when they host Swansea tomorrow lunchtime. The managerless South Wales side make the trip over the Severn Bridge in search of a first win in five games in all competitions.

Having shaken off a hamstring injury to start and play 68 minutes in the second leg of City's playoff semifinal defeat to Sheffield United last season, Pring was part of the travelling cohort that made the trip to the Algarve this summer for the Robins’ preseason training camp.

While in Portugal, however, the versatile defender sustained an ankle injury which required surgery, and the 27-year-old’s recovery has seen him miss all of the first 15 League games. Now, though, he is available again, and although it is not yet clear where he will feature under Struber, the City boss is relishing having Pring at his disposal.
