Making sure families in need have turkey to enjoy

SUPPORTING British farmers and tackling food waste, Shepton Mallet-based award-winning online retailer Field & Flower is once again using its LEG UP initiative to donate high-welfare turkey legs to families in need across the South West, via charity FareShare.
-
In 2025, Field & Flower is forecasting its biggest year yet: 1.5 tonnes of turkey legs purchased from small-scale farmers, with half a tonne donated to FareShare South West.
This equates to over 1,300 meals for people experiencing food poverty.
Food poverty in the UK remains a pressing concern. In 2023/24, around 7.5 million people (11% of the population) lived in households experiencing food poverty, including 18% of children. In the South West, one in four children are growing up in poverty, according to FareShare South West.
