Community rallies once again in Adam’s memory
Wells Journal
|June 11, 2026
THREE years after losing 20-year-old Adam Stimpson to a brain tumour, the community of Wedmore continues to rally in his memory as Awareness Fest, the annual music event at The George Inn, returns for its third year on Saturday.
-
Adam, inset, a second-year student in aeronautical engineering at Swansea University, was diagnosed with the aggressive tumour in December 2022 and tragically died in May 2023, less than six months later.
Since Adam's passing, his family, friends and supporters have raised more than £73,000 for The Brain Tumour Charity, turning heartbreak into extraordinary action.
Adam's friends have been central to this effort, with 17 of his closest local friends completing the 24-hour Three Peaks Challenge, and his Swansea University friends showing unwavering commitment by travelling to Wedmore to support the Target Fitness Gym Challenge and Awareness Fest.
They also completed the charity's twilight walk in London three times in Adam's memory.
