THEY'VE performed alongside pop legends, raised thousands for charity, and can fill a village hall with laughter as easily as with song. And they're not going away just yet.

Vocal harmony group have no plans to go silent after 25 years of singing

For 25 years, Tiverton vocal trio In Harmony - comprising Lynne Guest, Lynne Taylor and Kathy Welden – have made music that gets feet tapping.

So when word began to spread that their final curtain call had come, it caused quite the stir.

The confusion stemmed from a press release by Tiverton Town Band following a joint concert for the Mayor's Community Fund. The release suggested, incorrectly, that it was In Harmony’s last performance.

That miscommunication was later picked up in the Tiverton Gazette and understandably upset fans.

The band quickly corrected the record with a public statement on Facebook: “Tiverton Town Band and In Harmony recently performed at a concert for the Mayor’s Community Fund. A subsequent write-up in the Tiverton Gazette stating it was the last appearance for In Harmony is incorrect and the band wishes to apologise for any upset or confusion this may have caused.

“We have always had a good relationship with the girls and we know they have bookings planned throughout 2025, so we wish them every success and very much hope to work with them in the future.”

With that little mix-up behind them, the two Lynnes and Kathy were more than happy to set the record straight and share the story behind a group that, for a quarter of a century, has made harmony not just their music, but their mantra.

The trio first crossed paths as members of the Tiverton Operatic Society. What started as a one-off performance for the three of them quickly turned into something more.
