THREE TOWNS PLANNED FOR HOUSEBUILDS

WORK will start on at least three new towns within this Parliament as Keir Starmer vows to restore "the hope of home ownership" to thousands of families.

Each town will potentially have around 10,000 homes, with a minimum of 40% being affordable, along with GP surgeries, schools, libraries and local transport links.

Labour has identified at least 12 locations, with Tempsford in Bedfordshire, Leeds South Bank and Crews Hill in Enfield the most promising.

Some will be large new communities, while others will be regeneration or extension schemes in urban areas.

A new government unit will boost progress, cut red tape and funnel in private and public sector investment.
