Ex-US Open champ Em & Wimbledon finalist Carlos team up in New York... but not all are fans of celeb crowd pleaser

EMMA RADUCANU arrives in New York today as she prepares to star in a new US Open mixed doubles event which has attracted big names - and huge controversy.

The 2021 US Open champion will partner Wimbledon finalist Carlos Alcaraz in one glamorous pairing, while Novak Djokovic will be teaming up with Olga Danilovic.

And Venus Williams, now 45, will chase the $1million (£740k) first prize with fellow American Reilly Opelka, as the line between elite sport and entertainment is further blurred.

Wimbledon champions Jannik Sinner (who has yet to confirm his partner) and Iga Swiatek (who will team-up with Casper Rudd) have joined the two-day, 16-pair tournament, which begins on Tuesday as part of Fan Week.
