STARS ALIGN FOR DAZZLING DAN...

IT all fell into place for Align The Stars - with a little help from jockey Danny Muscutt - in the Jenningsbet Northumberland Plate at Newcastle.

A tricky draw in stall 14 left Muscutt with a Pitmen’s Derby dilemma - whether to hold back and ride for luck or take a prominent pitch and go round the wide outside.

Muscutt opted for the latter and it proved the right call as the Charlie Johnston-trained 10-1 shot (top right) hit the front with more than a furlong of the two-miler to run, and held Kirchner by a length and a quarter.
