MARK ROBINS hailed an outstanding result as 10-man Stoke battled past Southampton to retain their place at the top of the Championship table.

Second-half goals from Lewis Baker and Sorba Thomas were enough to see the Potters maintain a 100 per cent start to the season, despite having Divin Mubama sent off.

Robins said: “I thought it was a brilliant game.

“With 11 players, we were really good and looked a real threat. Everybody, to a man, worked their socks off.

“We shot ourselves in the foot with the sending off against a team who like to switch the ball to make things difficult.

“The depth of their squad is a joke for the Championship.”
