Survivors and grieving families still feeling pain of being ignored on blaze anniversary

NINE years after the Grenfell tower fire claimed 72 lives, Antonio Roncolato still finds himself reliving the disaster that tore apart his community.

Today, bereaved families, survivors and residents will unite once again in their fight for justice.

This year marks the final anniversary before the tower block is completely demolished, and it will be the first time they will not be able to visit to pay their condolences.

Antonio, 66, lived in the tower for 27 years and was among the last residents to escape alive.

As he walks through North Kensington, he still stops at the memorial wall to the tragedy on June 14, 2017.

Antonio said: "Grenfell's families have endured enough pain - they should not have to spend a decade waiting for justice."

Natasha Elcock, chair of Grenfell United, knows that pain all too well.

FAILURE

The survivor, who lost her uncle in the fire, told us: "After Grenfell, politicians told us lessons would be learned. We were told no community would ever experience what ours did.
