NEW BOOST FOR RENTERS

LANDLORDS are to be barred from chasing grieving families and friends of dead tenants for thousands of pounds in rent.

MPs are already set to vote through Labour's Renters' Rights Bill on Tuesday which will ban no-fault evictions and demand landlords fix serious health hazards like damp and mould.

But more measures are also expected to be added - including one preventing guarantors of tenants who have died being chased for excessive amounts of future rent.
