SAM DARNOLD'S journey from a star on Draft Day to multiple rejections, and now a chance to win the Super Bowl, is built for Hollywood.

He played his college football at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, eight miles from the centre of the movie world.

But being picked third overall in the 2018 draft by the New York Jets was the start of some miserable experiences and a lot of being shown the door.

As he prepares to lead Seattle into battle against New England tonight at Levi's Stadium on the southern shores of San Francisco Bay, Darnold now sees it all as a learning curve.
