Deadly game of cat and mouse

IT is almost 8pm and the sun is going down on a warm, tense day in a migrant camp in northern France a few miles from Dunkirk.

Charities providing food and basics have left for the evening and the improving weather means Channel crossing attempts tonight are likely.

Soon a group of around 50 people carrying bags of belongings are seen walking with purpose along the dusty road, one dad carrying his child.

For these migrants their time has come and the race is on to outsmart the police and reach the sea and, ultimately, the UK.
