By the firm response to the Pahalgam terror attack masterminded by GHQ Rawalpindi, India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown that the errors of the past repeatedly made with Pakistan are being avoided.

The litany of errors began in 1947 itself, when after Mahatma Gandhi had said that Pakistan would come only over his dead body. In a hurry to assume power, other Congress leaders disagreed, and agreed to the British colonial plan championed by M.A. Jinnah to vivisect India.

The Mahatma, to the bewilderment of his admirers, went along with the plan for Partition. Gandhiji had been correct although forced to accept vivisection, for Partition proved a disaster, most of all for the Muslims of the subcontinent.

Since its inception, Pakistan has been a source of trouble for India. The very next year, another mega concession was made, gifting Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to the putative rogue state.

In 1951, India not only did not object to the complete conquest of Tibet by the PRC but declined to assist those powers that wanted to ensure a continuation of freedom for the Tibetan people.

Soon afterwards, Aksai Chin was quietly occupied by China with none in authority in New Delhi even noticing the seizure of territory.
