Baccarat opens flagship boutique in Delhi, blending heritage, innovation, and luxury for Indian connoisseurs.
Certain global brands with a long legacy of excellence have become almost synonymous with the products they offer. French crystal house Baccarat, which first opened its doors over 260 years ago, is one such. Discerning Indians can now rejoice because this celebrated Maison of crystal is now opening its flagship boutique in the heart of India's capital - at The Chanakya, New Delhi.
Laurence Nicolas, the CEO of Baccarat refers to this as a historic moment, which continues a legacy dating back to 1886 when Indian royalty was first captivated with Baccarat's exquisite crystal pieces. He names the Maharajas of Kapurthala, Bikaner, Indore and Baroda as avid customers who adorned their palaces with dazzling creations from the brand.
In turn, some of Baccarat's most celebrated designs were also inspired by India's rich artistic heritage. These include the Elephant Liquor Cabinet and the Ferrières collection, both of which were presented at the 1878 Paris World Fair.
The brand originated in 1764 and has since become known for crafting masterpieces in crystal. Over the years, the Maison has stayed true to its commitment to beauty, contemporary refinement and the crafting of unique experiences. Having garnered a reputation for being alchemist of joy and creator of enchanting worlds, Baccarat is said to be the fruit of a group of daring artisans who worked to transform the elements of nature - earth, air, fire and water - into pure crystal.
Its masterpieces have surprised the world and helped the brand to gain recognition and numerous awards at World Fairs and international exhibitions. Now spread across the globe in places like Paris, Moscow, New York, Tokyo, Miami and Hong Kong, Baccarat's influence is felt across its many houses, boutiques, restaurants, bars and hotels.
