FORMER PMS HIGHLIGHT INDO-PACIFIC'S GROWING INFLUENCE
The Sunday Guardian
|March 15, 2026
Former heads of government from Australia, Sweden and Nepal on Thursday discussed the changing global order, rapid technological advancements and the rising strategic significance of the Indo-Pacific during a panel session at the NXT Summit 2026 organised by ITV Network.
Former Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the world is undergoing a "reset" rather than witnessing the collapse of the global order. According to him, this shift is being shaped by renewed rivalry among major powers, demographic transitions and rapid technological change.
He noted that ongoing conflicts in regions such as Europe and the Middle East illustrate the complex challenges governments must navigate, while also highlighting the transformative potential of technology, capital and youthful populations across the Global South.
