The highlight of the popular German Unity day at Hoppegarten on Oct 3 saw a changing of the guard, with rising filly Santagada emerging victorious from a stirring showdown between two three-year-olds.
The 35th running of the €55,000 (S$83,000) Group 3 Preis der Deutschen Einheit (2,000m) had garnered a small field of seven made up of four seasoned gallopers headed by nine-year-old and favourite Quest The Moon, and challenged by a trio of three-year-olds made up of Santagada, Delgardo and Eagle Emblem.
