Singapore charity RLAF seeks donations for victims in Myanmar and Thailand

Local charity Rahmatan Lil Alamin Foundation (RLAF), in conjunction with the Singapore Red Cross (SRC), is calling on the public to help raise funds for affected communities in quake-stricken Myanmar and Thailand.

The organisations are working together in the fund-raising appeal, which will provide urgent humanitarian assistance to those most impacted by the 7.7-magnitude quake on March 28.

Myanmar's death toll from the quake crossed 3,000 on April 2, with thousands injured and hundreds more missing.

The situation has been compounded by heavy rain, which has hindered rescue operations.

Thailand's toll stands at 22, with more than 70 believed to be still trapped under the rubble.
