Gundogan is back to play his best: Guardiola

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is thrilled that Ilkay Gundogan is back in his team, and insisted that the 33-year-old midfielder has not returned to the club to "retire".

On Aug 23, the English Premier League champions announced that they have re-signed their former captain on a one-year contract, with the option of a further 12 months.
The German, who retired from international football earlier in the week, left City for Barcelona in 2023 on a free transfer after leading Guardiola's team to the treble.
He could be available for the match against newly promoted Ipswich Town at the Etihad Stadium on Aug 24.
"We didn't have any doubts when the possibility to re-sign him was open, and we're absolutely delighted that he's back," said Guardiola.
