FairPrice Doubles Discounts for Singaporeans with Lower Incomes, Large Families

Lower-income Singaporeans with large families will get double the discounts on purchases at FairPrice and Unity stores from Sept 1 to Dec 31.
The FairPrice Group (FPG) said on Sept 2 that it has raised the discount enjoyed by blue and orange Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) card holders to 6 per cent from the current 3 per cent in celebration of SG60.
The discount is applicable to these card holders with three or more children under 18 years old. It can be used on Thursdays for blue card holders and Fridays for orange card holders at all FairPrice supermarkets and Unity outlets.
The four-month initiative is the latest in a slew of activities by FPG and FairPrice Foundation to ensure that all Singaporeans have the necessities, the group said in a statement.
