TN tops the country in GSDP growth rate, overtakes bigger states: Stalin
The Statesman Siliguri
|December 14, 2025
With a stable and high growth record in the past three years, Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday said Tamil Nadu has pipped bigger states by becoming the number one state in the country in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at 16 percent as per the data released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
“This great achievement has been made possible by the Dravidian Model despite the lack of support from the Union government. Tamil Nadu is not a big state neither in territory nor in population and there was no support from the Union Government. With 16 percent GSDP growth rate, the state has witnessed rapid growth,” he wrote in a post on his ‘X’ handle, asserting that is a proud moment.
