Geoquest India, formerly Reinforced Earth India (Terre Armée), has been a pioneer in introducing Mechanically Stabilised Earth (MSE) technologies, and has been a leader in engineered geotechnical, structural, hydraulic and environmental solutions for nearly three decades.
Headquartered in New Delhi, the company operates through three regional offices in Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru, along with a state-of-the-art manufacturing and testing facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
With a team of over 350+ dedicated professionals, Geoquest India has successfully completed more than 600 projects across the country in the last decades.
The company specializes in Retaining, Crossing, Protective and Strengthening Structures for civil and environmental engineering projects.
Operating in India and South Asia since 1996, the company has provided advanced solutions for major infrastructure and projects of strategic importance.
Geoquest India has worked extensively with key government agencies, including the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Public Works Departments (PWDs), Indian Railways, NHIDCL (National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd.), AAI (Airports Authority of India), and several other public and private funded projects.
Since 2014, the company has also been manufacturing specialized geosynthetics, exporting its products to more than 30 countries across all continents.
Speaking to The Statesman, Somnath Biswas, Managing Director, Geoquest India, explains how the company prioritises minimising environmental impact, optimising resources, and enhancing the asset performance and safety of structures, remaining committed to integrating innovation and sustainability into its engineering solutions.
It remains committed to driving sustainable and resilient infrastructure development not only in India but also across neighbouring countries, including Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Maldives.

Q: Geoquest India has played a pioneering role in introducing MSE technology in India. How do you see this technology evolving over the next decade, especially in the context of India's infrastructure growth?
