The West Bengal Assembly witnessed high drama on Tuesday as BJP MLAs, led by Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, staged a walkout demanding live streaming of the proceedings.

The BJP alleged that the ruling Trinamul Congress (TMC) government was deliberately keeping legislative discussions out of public view.

Addressing the media outside the Assembly, Mr Adhikari said: "Even small states like Manipur and Goa have live streaming of Assembly debates. But in Bengal, people are kept in the dark about what happens inside. What is the government afraid of?"
