Rival political events set for 21 July as Opposition space heats up

West Bengal is bracing for a politically charged 21 July, as rival parties and factions within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prepare for parallel events on the day Trinamul Congress (TMC) marks its annual Martyrs' Day rally in Kolkata.
While Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's party gears up for its flagship rally in the heart of the state capital, the Opposition space is heating up with a three-way political contest. Leader of Opposition and senior BJP figure Suvendu Adhikari has called for a protest march to the state's mini-secretariat in Siliguri, dubbed the "Uttarkanya Abhiyan," under the BJP youth wing banner. He is mobilizing workers across North Bengal, urging mass participation through social media messages and video appeals.
