Mamata Pays Tribute to Mahatma; To Address Oxford's Kellogg College

West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamul Congress (TMC) chairperson Mamata Banerjee stopped at Mahatma Gandhi's statue in Parliament Square, Westminster, on Wednesday during her UK visit and placed flowers at its base as a mark of respect (photo).
Sharing the moment on social media, she wrote: "There is something ineffable about Mahatma Gandhi that compels one to bow their head in reverence before him. Today, I paid floral tributes at the foot of his statue in Parliament Square, Westminster, London. This memorial stands as a timeless reminder of his ideals, which continue to inspire generations across the world."
Miss Banerjee is set to deliver a keynote speech at Kellogg College, Oxford University, on Thursday. The event has already generated immense interest, with the venue reaching full capacity 48 hours in advance.
