IPL 2025: Mumbai dominate Knights in low-scoring affair

Mumbai Indians put on a dominating performance against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with both bat and the ball to claim an eight-wicket win in a low-scoring IPL clash at the Wankhede Stadium Monday.
Left-arm pacer Ashwani Kumar enjoyed a dream debut with figures of 4-24 as Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya saw his decision to bowl first pay rich dividends, with the Knights being bundled out for just 116 runs in 16.2 overs.
In reply, the hosts broke little sweat as they overhauled the modest target with a whopping 43 balls to spare. Opener Ryan Rickelton emerged as the top scorer with an unbeaten 62 off 41 deliveries. He hit four boundaries and five maximums.
Andre Russell was the only bowler in KKR ranks who managed to trouble the Mumbai batters, returning figures of 2-35. However, the rest of the KKR bowling attack seemed to have a collective off-day.
