China does not support attacks on Gulf states and will continue to play a constructive role in reducing tensions and restoring peace in the region, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun (photo) said on Wednesday.

"China does not approve of attacks on Gulf states and condemns all indiscriminate strikes on civilians and nonmilitary targets," Guo said during a briefing. He emphasised that the immediate priority is to halt hostilities and prevent the conflict from spreading further.
