BJP MP Manoj Tigga sparks row over alleged threat to Alipurduar BDO

A fresh political controversy has erupted in Alipurduar after a video surfaced showing BJP MP Manoj Tigga allegedly threatening Madarihat Block Development Officer (BDO) Amit Kumar Chourasia over the alleged discrimination in government relief distribution among flood-affected families and forest dwellers.
The incident reportedly occurred a few days ago when the Alipurduar MP met the BDO to demand compensation for two victims ~ a mother and daughter —who were killed by a wild elephant. According to local sources, when Mr Chourasia allegedly refused to heed the MP’sappeal, MrTigga lost his temper, accusing the official of ignoring legitimate grievances raised on behalf of the victims and tea garden workers.
