Bihar polls: Oppn bloc seeks to woo EBCS

With an eye on the Bihar Assembly elections due in October-November, the INDIA bloc launched the Ati-Pichhra Nyaya Sankalp, a 10-point resolution to ensure sociopolitical and economic justice for the Extremely Backward Class (EBC) communities, in Patna on Wednesday.
The politically crucial EBCs are able to reshape Bihar’s politics. Every party has been trying to secure their fragmented loyalties ahead of the Assembly elections in the state.
Launching the resolution, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, said the Nitish Kumar government did not do anything for the EBC communities during his 20-year rule and alleged the Bihar Chief Minister "used them as a vote bank".
