TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) installed its first-ever 16 MVA Power Transformer (PTR) at the Nimakhandi Primary Substation (PSS) in Berhampur.

- STATESMAN NEWS SERVICE

Out of the 16 MVA capacity, 12.5 MVA is currently operational, effectively meeting the region's existing power demand while leaving room for future scalability.

Prior to this installation, the area depended on an 8 MVA PTR, which often faced challenges in handling the growing power requirements.

The new PTR has resolved long-standing issues of overload and ensures reliable power supply to over 7,000 consumers in some of the busiest and vital zones of Berhampur.

Mr. Amit Kumar Garg, CEO of TPSODL, said, "Meeting the increasing power demand has always been our priority. We are taking timely steps to enhance infrastructure and ensure a reliable power supply".
