Sambalpur emerging as 'second education hub' of the state: Pradhan

Governor Haribabu Kambhampati and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday underlined Odisha's emergence as a hub of higher education and innovation, stressing that premier institutions like Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) and Sambalpur University will play a decisive role in leading the state into the "New Age Economy."
Speaking at separate convocation ceremonies of VSSUT and Sambalpur University, Pradhan said Odisha is poised to benefit from rapid advances in artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, blockchain, data analytics, and quantum computing. "Our focus in the National Education Policy is the integration of technology with education. Institutions like VSSUT have the responsibility to prepare students and researchers in these cutting-edge areas and position Odisha as a global leader," he said. On the occasion, the Governor and Pradhan jointly laid the foundation stone for an 'Open Air Classroom' at VISUT.
