Flood situation has eased, rivers have receded: CM

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday conducted an aerial survey of flood-hit areas in Balasore, Bhadrak, and Jajpur districts and announced that while around 30,000 people across 81 villages have been affected, the overall flood situation has significantly improved, with major rivers now flowing below their respective danger levels.
Accompanied by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Higher Education Minister Suryavansi Suraj, and Special Relief Commissioner Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh, the Chief Minister reviewed the extent of the damage and relief efforts in the affected regions.
Speaking to the media following the survey, CM Majhi said four blocks in Balasore—Basta, Baliapal, Bhograi, and Jaleswar; two in Bhadrak—Dhamnagar and Bhandaripokhari; and two in Jajpur—Jajpur and Dasharathpur have borne the brunt of the floods.
