The Congress on Monday accused the BJP and BJD of colluding to stifle debate in the Odisha Assembly after Speaker Surama Padhy rejected its no-confidence notice against the state government.
The Speaker cited procedural flaws and paucity of time caused by repeated disruptions, but Congress MLAs stormed into the Well of the House, shouting slogans before walking out in protest. Braving rain, the legislators later staged a dharna under the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Assembly premises.
