Vaping creating new generation of addicts

SOUTH Africa is fast sleepwalking into a public health crisis, and it is targeting children. It should not be this easy for high school learners to get hooked on nicotine, but it is.

A new UCT study has laid bare just how many high school learners are addicted to vaping. Almost 17% of high school learners are now using e-cigarettes, and 38% of them are vaping daily.
Many of them are doing it on school premises, bathrooms and in school corridors. Some said they cannot go a single lesson without it.
More alarming is that children as young as 10-years-old are becoming addicted using vapes and will battle for years if not nipped immediately.
