The US under the Donald Trump administration has taken the rest of the world 10 steps back by launching a global trade war through manic tariff hikes that are crippling markets around the world.

To make matters worse, the old and most vulnerable in our societies everywhere are feeling the heat, as trillions of dollars have been wiped off in unit trusts and pension funds around the world.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in China, the latest US tariff hikes will essentially deprive countries of their right to development.
This is particularly the case for Global South countries.
