Jonathan Pienaar passes away

Award-winning actor Jonathan Pienaar, known for roles in Yizo Yizo, Binnelanders and Generations, has died at 63.

His wife, Rosana Maya Pienaar, confirmed his passing on social media, sharing that he suffered from heart failure following a previous heart attack.

Fans and colleagues flooded social media with tributes. Actor Spaces called him "a storyteller, a teacher, a legend whose light continues to guide".

Others praised his charisma and contribution to South African entertainment. Funeral details are yet to be announced.

Lynn Forbes reacts as AKA's suspects return to Mzansi

Lynn Forbes expressed heartbreak as the two men accused of murdering her son, rapper AKA, arrived in South Africa to face charges. The tragic shooting happened in February 2023 outside the Wish restaurant in Durban.

The Ndimande brothers face multiple charges, including one for the murder of AKA. Police confirmed their arrival at King Shaka International Airport for processing.

Forbes shared on Instagram that the day felt heavy, adding: "This South African air is suffocating today ... I can't breathe."

The late rapper's friends offered support as the legal process moves forward.
