Thuso Mbedu on mastering American accent for crime drama ‘Task’

SOUTH African actress Thuso Mbedu stars in Task, a new drama series from Brad Ingelsby:

Mbedu plays Aleah, who is part of a task force trying to put an end to a string of violent robberies.

In a clip shared by HBO Max, Mbedu and her costar Alison Oliver, who is Irish, talk about transforming their accents into the Philadelphia one.

“Just coming into the American accent itself, because I’m originally from South Africa and there are certain things that my tongue doesn’t want to do. So just playing with that has been super interesting”
