Mngqithi’s Golden Arrows hunt second league double over vulnerable Chiefs

Abafana Bes’thende, fresh from their latest triumph over Chiefs, will be looking to replicate their 1/21/22 feat, where they secured back-to-back wins in the league.

Under the tactical leadership of coaches Vusumuzi Vilakazi and Mabhuti Khenyeza, Golden Arrows pulled off a stunning 2-1 victory at FNB Stadium in the first-leg encounter before completing the job with a dramatic 1-0 comeback win in their previous encounter back in January. Arrows managed to edge past Chiefs 2-1 to win thanks to a crucial goal from Gladwyn Shitolo.

This time around, Arrows are brimming with confidence and eager to complete what would be their second double over Chiefs in the space of three years. Currently, sitting in 10th place on the log, Golden Arrows find themselves amidst the tightly contested battle with Chiefs, with three games in hand. The race for a top-eight finish is heating up.

Mamelodi Sundowns for over a decade, will bring a new edge to the team. He acknowledges Arrows’ style, having started his top-flight career with the club, coupled with his experience at Sundowns, could provide a fresh approach to the team’s tactics.

However, as the Betway Premiership returns following the Fifa international break, Arrows are without their challenges.
