HIGH HOPES, LOW DRAMA

- OLUTHANDO KETEY!

THE first-ever reunion in the world for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Africa aired and failed to live up to the hype.

Since the spin-off of The Real Housewives launched in 2021, this marks the first time that an Ultimate Girls Trip cast has come together for a reunion.

The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Africa aired in two parts: on Showmax on February 20 and February 27, and on Mzansi Magic on February 21 and February 28.

The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Africa brought together Housewives from across the continent, including cast members from Durban and Johannesburg in South Africa, Nairobi in Kenya, and Abuja and Lagos in Nigeria.

While the show is meant to be entertaining, the season was far from it, marred by claims of bullying and women going below the belt, receiving plenty of backlash from viewers.

At the reunion, the Housewives were meant to discuss what happened in Rio de Janeiro and take accountability for their actions. Some of the ladies, like Madam Evodia and Dr C, were able to apologise for their actions and make amends.
